If you’re looking for a freelance writer there are a lot of things you’re going to want to keep in mind. Freelancers as a whole can be a varied bunch and there are a lot of questions you’ll want to ask so keep our list in mind when you’re contracting for outside work…
Ask About Their Technology: You’ll want to know what kind of internet connection they have (is it satellite star internet or cable?) and whether or not they have a smartphone. This will help you determine how readily available they’ll be.
Ask for References: Just like you would any candidate, ask a writer if they’ve got some professional references and some samples of their work. This will show you how legitimate their business operation is.
Ask About Timelines: If you’ve got a specific project in mind ask your writer exactly how long it will take. Give yourself a couple of days buffer and determine after they meet or blow the deadline if you’ll want to work with them again.
